Nearly every artist paints a flower
at some time or another in their career. Although the idea of a show of flowers
may conjure up thoughts of thrift store paintings and Sunday painters, who
can resist the urge to paint something that is natural, colorful and beautiful?
This group of artists, many of whom are creating new work for the show, has
many different perspectives on the subject - Robbin Tracy’s stained
glass light boxes recall Austrian artist Friedrich Hundertwasser, and Diana
Falchuck’s flowers made of mould are playfully psychedelic comments
on beauty and decay. The show will also feature a piece by eleven-year old
artist Olive Burd, in her debut.
